So!
I'm currently torturing a pair of very inexpensive, MDF cabs that are incredible inefficient. So I'm looking to upgrade (used)
My choices as of late, and please feel free to ridicule me on how they may not have much in common, are an SWR Henry 8X8 (First run), and an Epifani UL310 (not sure which version. Rat fur covered)
I only need 500w handling, and prefer a lower impedance to get the full UMPH! out of the amp. (TCE BQ500)
Both are similarly priced and currently available. I've played through the Epifani, and I've heard the 8x8 before but never played it.
Basic bar band stuff. Small to medium venues. We can get a little rowdy, so the volume escalates as the antics do. Just a three piece group though.
gtr: marshall something-or-other tube head and 4x12
drums: Big-ole 7 piece with a ton of cymbals, on a custom riser
PA: med/lrg, but all in-ear monitors
We play a lot of 80's and 90's rock and like to put on a show.
Thoughts?
