Cab / crossover question

I just got a Mesa Walkabout 300W, and the 4X10 powerhouse cab. I must say, for its size, it kicks all kinds of ass. My question is, I was thinking of adding the Mesa 1X15 cab. Will this give a rounder, for lack of a better word, low end without using a crossover?
I like the punch of the 4 10's, but I miss the warmth of the 15, and I don't want to spend a ton of money...

maybe
dont worry about not using a crossover. most bass guitar cabs are designed to work fairly rull range and sound much better when run that way.
