Anyone have any ideas for a cab for a Bassman 100 head(4ohm load)? Could be modern or vintage. Looking for something not too massive. Max size 2x15" Looking for a good Dub sound.
I have a bassman135 which is pretty much a bassman100. It's not going to get very loud and stay warm and clean so you'll need something like a 215 or 410 with high SPL speakers, more sound coming out per watt going in. I'd trade a little "really deep" for something that has higher SPL in the mid-bass/low mids. The typical too many drivers crammed in too small a box resulting in the usual midbass hump in response is actually a positive in this situation.
+1 on the advice to get more drivers with higher efficiency. The Bassman 100 does not have a very honest power rating.
Not sure if you want to go this route, but something from the BFM line might work well. Bills bass horn designs (pretty sure that's what they are) have published specs that show very high efficiency ratings.
