Double Bass Cab for Clarus with Nadine?

Sam Edwards gets a nice sound using a Phil Jones CAB-27 and a Clarus Series 4. The carbon fiber stuff from GR (AT 112) looks pretty interesting, haven't heard one though. I'm still pretty happy with the sound of the Sennheiser MD-409U through a Clarus Series 4 and the GK MBX112...

I have a GR Bass 1x10 AT. It is absolutely one of the best double bass cabs I have ever used, and I'm a Trickfish artist, if that tells you anything. They just simply sound outstanding!
I gig 3-5 nights a week very consistently, and this cab has recorded, toured, been in and out if my car and college bass studio. Still looks like new and never, ever let's me down. Worth the 900$.

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond, Matt! May I ask though - have you used it / heard it with a condenser mic like the Nadine on an upright? Thanks man!

I have played my flatback with both a Yamahiko through it, and a AT mic in the studio. Not the Nadine, but that cabinet is both neutral and very clear sounding! I have the 1x10 version, but would love to get the AT 1x12 to compare. But load in is truly a one run setup! Bass on the left with Clarus in a small backpack with tablet, cables, etc and I can carry the cab with ONE finger easily.

Why doublebassists are reticent to spend small money for a great cab and play on a 15k bass is baffling to me. Get ONE great mic ( like the Nadine) and/or ONE great pickup, a Clarus or similar and a great cab and head straight for the shed, IMO.

But I am ultra-confident that the Nadine through a GR Bass 1x10 or 1x12 would blow your skirt up!

I’m unhappy with the AI double shot.
Not enough low end - too mid rangey

suggestions for a small and portable substitute?

looking on the stickies I’m not seeing much current discussion

and with the Nadine being kind of new, I thought there might be some more recent thoughts

Pat Harris is using a MAS 1/8 in this demo. Besides being a wonderful demo of how effective a High Pass Filter is, he's using a MAS 1/8 and it's up on a table of some kind

for the demo. When he playing through the MAS 1/8 at the beginning or the video you can hear just how detailed and beautiful a bass sounds through the cabinet and

how little razing it up off the floor effects it's low end. They really excellent cabinets and I payed the same price for mine as everyone else did. :)

Barefaced

He’s using a MAS 1/8 as Mike’s logo can be clearly be seen in this still from the video.
