cab for VOX foundation bass

Hi guys!

I got myself this VOX bass head, and I would like to make a custom box for it (original one is with two 15" and heavy as hell), if possible - with one 12", or 15" but strong and loud speaker. I want it to be as light as can be, still good enough to handle 200w - as rated on amp, and efficient enough to be heard through a drummer and two 50w solidstate guitar amps!

Do you have any suggestion on this one? Which speaker would fit the job best!

tnx guys, for your replies... but I don't wan't that amp... and I suppose no one does... I gave it back... it's a piece of crap, weak and distorted amp, heavy as Smart car! I was exited when I saw it... looked realy cool (still does), but not worth a $!

Tnx anyway...

Funny... My 50 watt all tube Foundation head and 18" Goodmans loaded Foundation cab together were even louder and smoother than my similar vintage 50 watt Traynor YBA-4 (1x15 combo). And both are always "fuller," and louder (as measured by a db meter) than my friend's 20 year newer 100 watt SS Hartke 1x15 combo amp, which he uses at the local open mic... It's always interesting to see the reactions from the "unknown" payers who stop in to jam who assume the newer amp will sound better... Then find out just how good the vintage amps are!!

A well voiced 50 watt tube amp and 1x15 cab is plenty vs a typical rock/blues drummer in most small to medium sized rooms. It's the "voicing" of an amp that matters most. And IME and IMO, most SS amps are poorly voiced for the power they produce. If their frequency range were limited the same as a tube amp, the power difference would be meaningless. I can't tell you how many SS amps I've tried that can't keep up with similarly powered tube amps for this very reason.

In today's world, a typical modern 50 watt amp can't hold a candle to any well voice amp, SS or tube, vintage or solid state... As has been said many times, "watts is watts," and doesn't begin to address the reason my 2 vintage tube 50 watters KILL modern SS amps with twice the power!!

Today's 50 watters cannot compete with a drummer... Vintage 50 watters can, and do!!

And I have a '74-ish Traynor YBA-4 50 watt 1x15 combo for sale if anyone is interested... Its like an Ampeg B-15 on steroids!!!
