Cab quit working ... help!

I've got an old SWR cab laying around that I pilfered the banana pegs from. Looking at the circuit, I can't see how they are necessary. They're just in parallel with the 1/4" jacks.

Yet when I wired it back up ... no sound. I can hear a tiny bit of hiss from the tweeter, but no signal is getting through to the woofers.

Bass, amp, cables are all known good. I've checked all the connections I can see with my multimeter. The only places I don't see connectivity are across the capacitors, and across the main leads (thus the no sound). The speakers are reading normal resistance.

Any ideas? Seems like I've got a grounding problem or something, but I can't find it.

I forget exactly, but I seem to recall that the woofer's wiring comes off the crossover board somewhere around where the banana jacks bolted on (Goliath series).

Can you post a photo or two?

See, when you steal parts from something without knowing the full story, this always happens. I guess this is elementary, but did you put the pegs back in?

No, the pegs went into another cab. This cab will have only 1/4" jacks.

I think I see the problem now ...

Was there an "implied ground" via the metal jack plate, which was severed when the banana jacks were pilfered?

Found the problem.

Sheer stupidity.

Problem between chair and keyboard.

Need to hook those speaker leads back up now don't I? :scowl:

And actually, for the record, BillyB was right on the money. They use the banana terminals for two of the speaker connections.
