Cab sounds

I use an Ampeg Portaflex 500, that I dearly love, with an Anpeg 1x15" and a Peavey 4x10. Great sound. But, playing in a variety band, would it better to run 2x15's or two 4x10's. Opinions please?

Output from pair of 4x10 is deafening, not what I want on stage. Pair of 2x10 is roughly equivalent to a pair of 1x15 but has better dispersion. Dispersion of 4x10 blows. Since you don't have a preference tonally, go 2x10 stack with PA for the big gigs.
