Cabinet advice needed

Need some advice: I just acquired an Eden WT-500 with two 1x10 speaker cabs (both 8 ohm), and need a larger bottom speaker for an upcoming tour. I don't plan on bridging the amp, but plan on using both sides at 4 ohms. I'm playing with an alt-country band doing 500-1000 seaters. Stage volume is not that loud, I won't be playing against Marshalls or anything like that.

Am thinking about adding a 2x10 (like an Eden xlt), or an Avatar 1x12 (or 2x12). I don't have any experience with the 12's though. Looking for small & portable with a good throw (and in the $300-$400 range if possible). Also any insight on adding a 2x10 vs a 1x12 (or 2x12) is welcome.

Thanks everyone

Definitely don't need to go overboard volume wise but need to be able to hear myself when singing 15 feet from my rig and want to keep the 1x10's as well, since they are perfect for NYC club gigs. Should have mentioned that.

Hi kar120c.

Matching speakers & cabs yield the most focused sound (no phasing problems caused by using dissimilar speaker & cab sizes).

Getting one or two more cabs which match the ones that you already have, and stacking them vertically to form a line array will:

- increase the amount of air your rig can move (more air moved = a bigger bass tone).

- put speakers up higher (closer to ear level).

- maximise the horizontal dispersion of mids and highs (allowing everyone to hear your bass more clearly at all volume levels).

- and give you the most scalable rig for playing different sized venues.
