I am just curious if I am the only one OCD enough to do this.
My recording setup is also the same setup I am using for live sound, only swapping out the headphone amp for a pair of powered loudspeakers.
This means I have cables that get put together, and taken apart with some regularity.
I have found that it is much faster for me to make the connections at the devices, run everything together and then make the connections at the mixer all at once.
This poses a problem of a mess of cables with similar looking ends.
My solution to this problem has been to whip out the label maker I use for networking cables, and to mark both ends of the cables with their respective sources and destinations.
Likewise, I am wanting to bundle my cables for transport safely, and have added velcro straps to the cables to make cable management MUCH simpler.
Am I the only one here that does this?
While in the studio, I am running the cables between the amp and the mixer in wiremold. This requires a bit of work to take out, and put back in. Is there a better way to route the wiring in the studio that keeps the wires off the floor?
