That is impressive. I was also pleased with the speed. I ordered my SJB-57 FL LPB Jazz last Wednesday night and had a tracking number by Thursday morning. The bass is out for delivery right now. :hyper: But I'm not going to get a chance to open it until tomorrow evening because I've got my lab tonight that runs late, and then a sizable stack of reading materials to cover. :crying:

Ephminus, congrats on the order! Rondo is great to work with, I agree. My crappy wireless internet dropped out in the middle of my order, so I wasn't sure if it had gone through. I e-mailed them the next morning at work, got a reply within 15 minutes, that they had nothing on record, placed the order again, and about an hour later had a tracking number!

That P looks sweet, let us know how you like it. I have a Jazz, and love the tonal varieties, but am thinking about getting a P to jam with my buddy because we play more metal/hard rock type stuff.

I've not played the Upgraded LTD's, but honestly, I don't care for high mass bridges on any bass, particularly Jazz's. Not my thing. I much prefer the Vintage style of the basic J bass.

The neck is definitly going to be skinnier than a P bass at the nut.

I'm a P bass guys, so you're probably picking the wrong brain here. ;)

I've heard good things about the LTD's though.

Personaly, I'd get the regular J bass, and have the best luthier in my local area work the frets over, if I wanted a J.

I'll second that! My SX Jazz is definitely lighter than my Squier. I know, the Squier is a maple body, but I use it for reference. And, it feels lighter than the Geddy Jazz I played a few weeks back.

I have not done a comparison on a scale, but I was able to A/B them when down in Milwaukee the last time and my SX Geddy Clone really felt lighter than a Fender Geddy counterpart. And I liked the profile of the SX Black bound and blocked neck more than the Geddy neck.

I put the SX neck profile right on par with the Squier on my VM Jazz. The fretboard radius is different, but that's about it. And obviously the SX Ash bodies are heavier, heavier than the Squier VM Maple body too, but the feel, the sound...oh baby! I'd like to do an A/B comparison with an Ash Bodied Fender...
