Calling all pedal builders! Filter Drive Anyone?

Hi guys! I was wondering, has anybody on the pedal building side tried this yet? I would think this would give you the ultimate control over the sound of the overdrive, especially mixed in with a blend.

Granted, this may have already been done, but the knobs are likely called "Growl" or "Grind" or something :) What do you guys think? If this has been done before, does anyone know on which pedal? If not, any thoughts on giving it a whirl?

I *think* that is exactly what the Lomenzo Hyperdrive from Ashdown does. Has a dial for where you want the bandpass to focus the drive and a Q switch for how tight that focus is =0)

I checked that out and it comes close, just not sure if it does exactly what I’m thinking. Ideally it would just be two pass filters that nearly converge,so that you could basically pick any range of frequencies to be sent to the drive. Good suggestion, thanks!
Don't recall whether the EQ ranges overlap. Each EQ band can distort independently when pushed. I don't remember if the EQ is before or after the main dirt section.

I think the Knightfall 66 is the closest to what I was thinking of, but I don't see those come up much in the classifieds. I'll keep me eye out though, thanks!

Then keep trying to find a builder who will take a project on (for time and money of course). If you do, I'll be the next guy asking for weird custom ideas. Promise!

Sometimes you gotta Google like mad and send 20 emails to get something built. I personally choose to wait and spend whatever it takes for new and custom. I advise the same attitude (who wants a weekly "Are we done yet?").

Seriously I'm also looking for a lock down go to builder, so I hope this thread keeps up. Step up and get paid for some fun builds! I ain't smart enough.

Thanks!
