Camden EC1 to practice bass ?

Hello !

Has anyone tried a Cranborne Audio Camden EC1 to play bass with headphones ?
Camden EC1 - Preamp and Headphone Mixer

I use a Phil Jones Bass Buddy, and I currently play 100% at home with headphones, with music coming from my laptop.
I like the PJB but I keep an eye open for other possibilities. I am not a fan of IR, amp simulations etc... I once bought a Darkglass Element and I sold it after a week. For headphones I have a Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro and an Audio Technica ATH-M50X.

This thing looks really cool. Are you running the audio from the laptop into your PJB at the moment? How do you plan on running your sound source into this device?

@tylerwylie Yes, the audio from the laptop goes in the Aux in of the PJB.

The Camden EC1 has an Aux in as well (on the back).

Since the official distributor is based in France and works with french shops only for the moment (even if they've been praised in the recent NAMM shows), I don't think you'll get many people knowing that DI on a mostly US forum.

I know those 'britons' products, indeed they're quite nice, built in the state of the art. I don't know why it would not work as the PJB Buddy does, and to me it's even better, cos' with more features, than the PJB Buddy. Oh, and those Mojo "cream" saturation buttons would sell me if I used a precision with flats

(and honestly I don't why so much people praise that much PJB products, as they're built in China and cost so much still... the boutique industry does better for not so much money now)

Resurrecting this because I just scored a used one from GC for $349 (plus shipping and tax) but I’m also exclusively playing at home (I’ve been doing jam nights but I’m finding them wholly unfulfilling).

I’ve been using various Nux Mighty Plugs and I just feel I want to be on another level quality wise.

I have a Jad Freer Capo and Summit TD100 I’m going to put in front of this to just really push that highend studio chain.

I’ll use an audio interface or a Twelve South Airfly into the aux to be able to playalong with tracks.

I believe Tim Lefebvre is using the Capo and Camden as his recording chain.

I am when I’m not travelling. It’s my luxury rig.

This, a nice cable, some Beyer DT990s and an adaptor so I can add the Twelvesouth Airfly and I’m away.

I have travelled with it a little bit but it’s easier to use the Boss Katana Go a lot of the time.

This is by far my favourite preamp, everything sounds great through it.

Currently discussing picking up a second.
