Can a bassist have only one P Bass?

I only have four:

Is that a Silvertone amp lurking in that next to last pic....on the right? )-(

i love my J but not tonight,cousin-in-law passed away(he was a `Nam vet who bought his Fender Strat from a guy who ordered it direct from Fender in the 60's(and who he initially learned how to play with/from?)had a country band for 30 years
anyhoo,,,something about a P versus a J,,

i've gotten to a point where i don't want a P/J,my P has SIT silencers on her and boy!,last night she was rip city cool sheeat:bassist:,,

tonight(because i had so much on my mind) i struggled finding `home',then grabbed my (fretless) J,,,(batterys are all dead for my pedals and i'm jamming on a combo) instead of my REAL head/cab,,uh? yeah! J is a much mellower instrument

wish i was on to some bluegrass tonight,i'd love the J,,,

now as for owning more P's than one=it would be nice to one with Jamerson's and one with,uh? say SIT silencers,on a good day i love those strings(maybe that's why i want a nother P ?

one bass can do it all(if your mind is free to find what you seek on the neck),if you aren't,,NO pile of instruments will let you find `home'(the groove),,,so,,cornfused yet:D,,

ok more beer we got people dyin here:bawl::eek:

I love my '04 USA P. I find myself frequently changing strings on it. Flats, rounds, flats, rounds... I've come to a conclusion that I need two P basses - one with rounds the other with flats. I prefer rounds to flats. However, nothing sounds like a P w/ flats. Maybe I'm just trying to find an excuse to buy another bass when our beloved IRS sends me a fat check :p

Two Ps sounds cool.
I'd add a fretless though.:)

I currently have one P bass, a blonde/maple Squier VM with Gotoh 201 bridge and Fender flats. I consider it my main instrument, enough that I probably will sell my Ibby five-string. That said, I am thinking about getting a second P, a white/rosewood VM, and setting it up with rounds to satisfy the Ramones kick that I've been on lately.
