Can I?? Squier VM Jaguar neck 34" to SS

Today's question, bear with me on this. I have a Squier VM Jaguar 34" scale that has seen some upgrades and does everything I need. BUT, I would like to convert it to Short Scale as the old arthritis hampers playing.

My question is, if I can find a SS neck, would it be an easy conversion, ie, swap out, change strings or am I looking at changing more than the neck. I'm assuming Squire would not have made many changes in a production gutiar.
Is their a place to get a SS neck?

Do I try it or take it to a pro?

OR, if you have a VM Jag Classic SS in transparent red???

It will depend on the neck you get. If you can get the dimensions of the neck you are interested in you should be able to figure out what the scale length would be if you put it on your bass body. You also have to make sure the width is the same and the neck heal will fit in the neck pocket of the body. If the neck has holes for the neck screws, they have to be in the same place as on your bass or you will have to fill and re-drill. If there aren't holes, you will have to drill them. So there are a fair number of things that would have to be just right for a straight neck swap without and other work.

you maybe able to fit a bronco neck on there but regardless, you are going to have to move the bridge and pu's up, and craft a new pg, and plug and drill holes, rout a pocket, do some wiring, etc.. that is if you want it to be a decent looking mod. you could just go animal and hack it all up, but that's just not the best imo.

you may just want to get a ss bass.

to add, fender/squire made a 30" jag, -we owned one. you could try to hunt one down.

it probably won't be that easy and you may or may not be able to do all that's involved.

perhaps you could buy a used squier short scale jag and swap in the upgraded parts? it would be cheaper than having a neck installed by a pro.

THX, Squier VM Jaguar's Classic SS are hard to find at a reasonable price, but the hunt is on. Thx for the advice I was hoping for an easy swap.

It'll take some work, even if you did find the right size heel, and even if the neck screws are in the right place the pick-ups wouldn't be in the 'sweet spot' anymore once the scale is shortened, I think they would need to move towards the bridge respectively.
