Can you guys help me out here?

Hi, Well my problem is, I'm trying to record me and my bass playing on video (Like MarloweDK kinda stuff). But I have a **** camera and the sound is horrible. I went to radioshack and bought a few adaptors so I can record, But I need video AND better sound, in synch.

Any way I can do that? (Try not to make me go buy anything, I have adaptors, and an amp but...)

Does your amp have a line-out, and does the camera have an audio line-in? Sending from the amp to the video recorder should stay (virtually) in synch with the video.

If you're stuck with the audio from the on-board mic in the video recorder (and skipping post-mixing the audio and video from a separate recording/er), probably making sure your sound is as clean as possible, and probably as low a volume as possible, is going to help. And work with mic placement--if your amp doesn't have to be in the video, and it doesn't matter where it is, try in front, behind, beside, below, baffeled with absorptive materials (i.e., blankets)--if it is a closed-back cabinet, try pointing it the same direction as the mic, but into a folded blanket, so the mic is recording basically the remaining reflection from that (like I said, experiment). If there is a clip meter on the video recorder, make sure you're below that but as high as possible. Try different sounds from your bass and amp, too--a different sound may record better, but play back more like what you're expecting to hear.
