Can you help me determine these effects?

I had an idea during songwriting yesterday but realized I needed more seasoned ears to translate it. I don't know why this effect popped into my head but I think it would be perfect for this song I'm working on.

If you skip ahead to 12:20 I'd like to use the big shrieking swell that starts around there. I think it's an envelope filter, a fuzz/distortion, and a volume pedal? Can anyone confirm or deny?

That is actually Adam, the guitarist, doing those squalls. He's just using a Crybaby and his amp for distortion, and maybe the MXR Micro Amp that he uses sometimes when he wants some extra dirt. Justin is just chugging along the riff in that part.
