Canadian Fury basses

No, not the Peavey What can anyone tell me about them? There's a tornado with the drop d bridge I might pick up. What's a fair price range on these?

Sorry to bump but I'm mighty interested in these basses as well. The small amount of info I could find on these things is they're pretty great, but I'd like some additional information on their specific sound and playing qualities. I see from the site they go for 1885 Canadian (roughly 1500 USD). Any info would be much appreciated. Sound clips would really be great!!

My guitar tech here is crazy about them and says people rave about them, but like you I immediately sought to do some research on TB and couldn't find a thing. No videos on YouTube either.

I'm sure they're great bass guitars but you're not likely to get your hands on one to try them out, and if you order one directly, I don't think you'd be able to find a buyer in the resale market. You could always call Fury and ask if they have any dealers in your area.

Glen and the guys at Fury are great. They are more known for their guitars than their basses but Glen taught Sheldon Dingwall a thing or two about instruments and he seems to be doing just fine.

I've been interested in the Fury Tornado bass for years and have never found a used one on sale...

A long time ago, I used to play guitar in a band with a guy who had one of these. (a Fury LS-4) He carried this thing on his motorcycle! On his back! In a gig bag!! Very cool bass. Really very nicely made. You have to see one in person to really get it. (pictures don't do it justice) I always loved that crazy headstock. Too bad Fury doesn't use that configuration anymore. Actually, I've always wanted to make a bass with that headstock, but out of respect for Glenn McDougall, I can't bring myself to imitate something so cool. The Tornado has that cool Drop-D bridge on it. Nice to see the innovation continuing at Fury.

I'll add something here... A local shop recently had two of them in for sale. I know one sold, not sure about the second one. Narrow necks, thin and light bodies. Guitars Plus in Victoria, BC.

All I can say is just HMMMM? have never seen this Design

I'll have to find one of these one day. I mostly build my own instruments, but some things, you simply must have the real thing. (a few Soviet era Eastern-block axes and other 60s oddballs included)

I have owned one-an anthem bass.
I ordered a fretless neck for it. I owned it for twenty years.
it is long gone but they are quality instruments.

the drop D bridge that fury makes is an ingenious design that could make him a millionaire if he ever licensed the design.

the fury PU's are very powerful and fat Humbuckers.

the issue with fury basses is that they are 31.5 scale; very short. the other is they don't make fivers.
Sheldon Dingwall took many cues from glen (both in Saskatoon) from what I heard and learned much from this Canadian innovator.

I suspect their guitars are even better.

Yeah cool little basses played 3-4 you don't see them often I know quite a few guys with the guitars.
