Canon A1100IS question

Hey guys I need some info here about a digital camera. I'm going to comic-con the 22nd so I need a camera soon!
I had a question about the Canon PowerShot A1100IS. My question is, can you just take a quick picture or do you have to hold it incredibly still otherwise it will come out blurry?

Also any other thoughts about the camera are welcome. Thanks!

Holding it still doesn't help, if the subject is moving - it all depends on the available light. Outside shots with plenty of light will work fine, and inside a building, that's what the internal flashes are for. Although, for optimal results, you would want a camera with an external flash. Adjusting your camera's ISO value higher will make it "quicker" without the flash, but the pictures come out more grainy.

Well as long as it takes decent pics I'm happy. I'm not looking for professional quality work, just your average "tourist" if you will, photos.

BTW, about the blurriness and holding it still, I've had experience with cameras where I could be taking a shot of say an apple, apples don't move and it still came out blurry because I can't hold it perfectly still as a tripod. A moving object, yeah it will probably be harder to get a clear pic but I need to know if this camera will work better than the other cameras I've used, mentioned here.
Or could it be a setting? I don't know much about cameras so maybe those cameras I used could have taken a good pic but maybe it was on a wrong setting?

Well I went ahead and bought the camera and it works great! Thanks for those tips though.
