CAP-EXF pickups on 2011 Ibanez SR400QM

Hi there, long-time reader, first time poster!

I have ordered a 2011 SR400QM (which I get to pick up this weekend :smug:) - I tried to find out about this brand of pickups and whether they were any better to the factory-produced ones on the previous model, but found nothing :(

I was able to play the 2010 model in a music store a few months prior, the factory pickups had a nice warm tone with good punch (although EQ was different setup to the current model) so I still don't really have much compare to. Does anyone know more about these pickups? I'm pretty sure they're passive.

I'll try and do a proper comparison when my bass arrives :bassist:

The sound is slightly improved, and are getting closer to the MK's found higher in the series. Active too, only the most basic GSR is passive...all current Ibby's are active (some higher models do have a passive switch) But your is def. active.

But if you liked the sound that the older EX pu's gave then you should be happy when you hear the next G EX's ;)

Awesome, I'll post back with some piccies once she arrives, hopefully I'll be able to confirm the tone I'm anticipating :bassist:
