It started with finding a nice Mineral Stained Poplar board. As you can see, I was able to get two bodies out of this particular board.

This is after the first rough carve. I like to get it roughed out before routing out the neck pocket. The reason being, that when you route out the pocket, the edges are sharp to meet up seamlessly with the neck. If you don't rough it before you route, a file or sandpaper tend to round the sharp edges.

Once the neck has been glued in you have to round it into the neck. I use everything from a rasp, file, Dremel and sand paper to achieve a seamless transition for your thumb.

This is with the pickup and control cavities routed out. I use templates and a top bearing template cutting bit. I believe I have also sanded down to 600 grit at this point.

I have applied a couple of coats of Gunstock oil using a French polish technique.

The next few pictures are of the finished product. Sorry I didn't have more pictures of the neck being built. I put it together separately and at a different time.
