carlo robelli bass info

hello everyone. so my girlfriend gave me a bass she had that she never used and i cant seem to find any info on it. It's a fretless and actually feels pretty decent although i would much prefer it to have frets, and idk what it sounds like as i havent gotten to plug it in yet. so if anyone knows anything about this bass i would appreciate the help

Carlo Robelli basses were/are made in China to be sold by Sam Ash Music as part of their budget line. They are a good value for the money, although sometimes they need a bit of setup work and the active preamps can be a bit noisy. I have a student who has the exact same bass and it's not bad.

Damn, those look like frets to me.

oh wow i didnt even notice the frets in that picture. seems the only other pic i could find of that model also has frets. would explain why theres lines where the frets should be on mine that also seem kind of indented into the fret board. ive never seen a bass or guitar with the frets taken out and i figured where the frets went in to the neck would be a bit bigger and deeper. her moms ex boyfriend got it for her at a flee market so who knows what was done to it lol
