...killed it last night w/Lincoln Jazz at the Ottawa Jazz Fest. Bass, drums and piano are the foundation and pillars of that ensemble and Henriquez is the harmonic glue that holds it all together. Trombones, saxes and trumpets were flying off in all sorts of great directions from there. Great show if somewhat 'traditional' in it's choice of material.

Man Carlos is so killing. I saw him last year at the detroit jazz festival and he was outstanding.

Tonight I get to see the pairing of Brian Blade and John Patitucci with the Wayne Shorter Quartet. Life is good! Oh, and Ottawa's finest, John Geggie, running the jams sessions afterwards.
