Carvin LB75

That's a steal as long as the neck and everything is in good shape (it's a neck through so a bad neck or truss rod would be a major issue). Even if you don't like it you can get your money back out of it and then some. You could probably get $600-ish for it.
 
Yes, that's a great deal. I'd jump on it as long as it's not damaged in some way. My LB75 is a '91 so I can't help as far as sound, but the build quality is excellent. I don't understand how they can do "Made in USA" so inexpensively. I've changed the bridge and p'ups over that time. Mine has been my main gigging bass for 14 years.
