I have an opportunity to buy a Carvin LB75 from a local buyer. I have never played one and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. Neck through, one J pickup, one humbucker pickup, piezo bridge. Looks like a good bass for the money. He is asking $350. Any thoughts?

That's a steal as long as the neck and everything is in good shape (it's a neck through so a bad neck or truss rod would be a major issue). Even if you don't like it you can get your money back out of it and then some. You could probably get $600-ish for it.

I'll take it! But seriously check the truss rod.....I have seen alot of carvins with broken and or damaged trussrods lately for some reason!
Yes, that's a great deal. I'd jump on it as long as it's not damaged in some way. My LB75 is a '91 so I can't help as far as sound, but the build quality is excellent. I don't understand how they can do "Made in USA" so inexpensively. I've changed the bridge and p'ups over that time. Mine has been my main gigging bass for 14 years.
According to the seller, there is nothing wrong with the bass. He said he just had it professionally set up. I'm thinking he needs money for Christmas. I am going to buy it. For that price, I have nothing to lose.
That is a great deal! I had an LB70 with the same pickup configuration minus the pezio. I paid nearly $1000 new for it and sold it for $500 a few years ago.
He originally wanted $450. After we traded several emails he said he would take $350. I picked it up tonight.
Because they do EVERYTHING associated with making and selling that axe. Huge savings there, even if I am a Carvin fanboy.
I'll have a Carvin LB75 on the 'Bay right after the New Year begins.
