Can someone detail to me how a standard Carvin neck is constructed? In other words, 1 piece plus the fretboard material or 2 piece plus fretboard or ?

Carvin offers both one piece and five piece necks. Maple, rosewood and ebony fretboards are available. They use a dual action truss rod. Hope that answers your question.
The basic "standard" neck is one piece maple, and a fretboard. Personally, I like that setup. You can 6 different combos of 5 piece necks like Woody said, and there is also a 2 piece mahogany option as well. Also 
you can get tung oiled necks, satin finished and poly/painted necks. Just check the site and use the Bass builder for any model and check the options. They cover pretty much every base (bass?)
