ok so im thinking of stringing my jeff berlin dean with some carvin stainless steel strings...any users of these strings what do you think of them?

I have used the Carvin Nickle strings (#5011) for several years now . . . their low price ($12/set) makes it MUCH easier to change them often (every 4 or 5 shows/rehearsals).

They're made by LaBella. I've only tried the flats, and they seemed fine, just not much choice as far as gauge.

The Carvin stainless strings are very good for the money - that is to say, they're bright and reasonably long lasting, not as good as the best stainless but well worth the price. They're only available in a medium light gauge though. If that works for you, go for them!
I use Carvin stainless steel strings and they're great. Dollar for dollar they are some of the best strings out there and sound great. Rated very highly in a Bass Player magazine shootout and you can't beat the price.
My favorite guage set is 040-060-080-100-128. Good for fingerstyle, slappin' or if you use a pick. Order about 3 sets. The cost per set is $12.99 and shipping is $7.00 whether you order 1 set or 5 sets. So the more sets you order the cheaper the cost is per set. Good luck.

I've used their flats, and they are indeed very good. The shipping rates will eat you up, so as a previous poster said, order several sets at once.
I used to play Carvin strings. They sound fine, nothing amazing, but they are definitely good bang for the buck. I broke them like crazy though. I use DR's now, love em.
