Does anyone have any experience with Carvin Bass Amps? I'm wanting something with the watts that the Neo4x10 has and all, but just haven't heard many being used around here (KC area). The reviews on the Carvin forums are all wonderful, of course...and the Harmony-Central reviews are all pretty good - but are sparce...I'd just like to hear from anyone who has experience with one or at least knows of them if at all possible.

I'm trying to upgrade to at least a semi-pro rig, while wanting the majority of my money going to the instrument - I'm looking at a Warwick Streamer, Double Buck.

Like the previous poster said, do a search first.

I'll be cool and give you my $.02. I own a BX1200 head w/BRX10.4 Neo cab. It's 4ohms, bridged, 1,200 watts rms. I also own the SBR1018, both amps are superb in sound, performance and quality. I've had the BX1200 2 yrs. and it's never let me down. I could go on and on, but really, you need to do a search.:smug:

I love Carvin Amps, and for the last 6 years have used no other.
I first had a little Carvin combo with a 12" - I loved the tone I got from it, so when I went looking for my new rig I made sure to visit the Carvin store. I had previously tried out various Ampeg and Mesa amps, with some I liked, some I didnt.
For the last 4 years I've been playing a Carvin R1000 through a 4x10 redeye cab. The cab is 8ohms and regularly puts out 225watts, or I can bridge and put out 700watts. Its extremely versatile and easy to use. My $0.02

We bought a Carvin 'Redeye' amp for church back in the 90's. 600 watts with a 15 & two 10's. It's used several times a week for rehearsal and worship and is still going strong. I think you'll find Carvin delivers a lot of quality & reliability for the money.
The amp has a lot of features that I don't use; it seems like they're made to deliver a broad range of tones. I'd recommend it, although I might be biased. I love any amp that I don't have to move.

Good luck bro. Kansas City absolutely SUCKS when it comes to bass gear (with a few small exceptions).

Sorry - not much to offer, as I've neither played nor heard Carvin in person. I just wanted to echo your sentiments.

I bought a PB500 with V115 a year ago used and it served me well..Thing started to have problems, so I posted my pleas for help here. Anyway, all it needed was a good cleaning by a tech guy who was really experienced. I would say try it out man cause I got my used set up for $200.00

The BX1200 and BR1500 are suppose to be excellent (most likely I will get one with some sort of 410)
Hey I was wonder do you have to be a paying member to sell stuff here?

I have a RL810 cabinet. It's pretty much the same as their current 810, except that it has a red colored tweeter and carpet rather than tolex.

I love it. I've wanted a 'big" rig for a while, and it sounds great with my YBA 200. It's not an ideal comparison but as for how I like it: I had it and a USA Ampeg 215. I kept the Carvin. The Ampeg was to grindy for me, and the Carvin was way clearer and smoother.
