finally arrived...very cool.
Its the one on the right.
the one on the left is a musicman bass 6.
VERY nice collection there, jealous of most of those basses.
How do you like the black Casady?
overall its fine and ....and just as i expected the frets need dressing...but other than that its a good true semi acoustic ....i need more time to play with it and im not wild about the strings ...so after a few changes i can see its going to be real good .The tone has that woody feel to it ...the neck is a little thicker than im used to ...i will know more after i use it on a few tracks.
Very Nice, I have the pick guard off on mine as well.
yeah acctually that was a no brainer!!...that gaurd was off before i even started to play it.
nice sunburst minus gaurd...i just love the look of these basses....thankfully its not all show and no go!....a classic in the making.
That looks GREAT zazz!
How long did have to wait for it?
I have heard a better resonance and projection with the pick gaurd off .
about 5 months.....i think they make them in batches so you might get lucky.
I definitely like it better with the guard on. Still very sexy, though.
well if it was black with white edging like the stingray ..i would possibly consider leaveing it on but it was cream coloured like the pickup cover and kind of cheap.
getting some great tones out of it as we speak!! really compliments my other basses.
this guitar really lends itself to false harmonics above the 12th so easily.....you can really jazz out and then drop down into a rock groove ....and that reaostat set at 500....its like a one way ticket to 60s acid experimentation....i think jack knew what he was doing when he put this together...unlike the fretwork...made in korea and setup in the usa....maybe it should have all been done in korea.
Hmm, now I'm tempted to take the pickguard off of mine as well. Drat!
You guys SO aren't helping the GAS.
I have some major GAS for one of these... and I even have the cash!
But the distributor told me today there won't be a Black Casady available until june!!
Did you email Jack?
You can buy from him directly:
"Please Note- Due to high demand- Jack's basses are available by special order only. Call 740-992-6228, or email email@example.com to order. "
i tried jack first time round but i couldnt get an email response....however i think that it would be the best bet because he sets them up himself ....which has to be way better than whoever set my one up.
i dont like the look of the pickup at all thats just me......
yeah ..prehaps metal or black would be more subtle....
does anyone know if those electar pickup covers are available as spare parts....in black!!
