case keys/stupid question.

hello,

i just bought my boyfriend a fender hardshell p bass case for xmas. i ordered it on ebay, and it arrived yesterday and i tried to open it... and couldnt.

it appears that the 2 locked hinges are... locked! i could not figure out a way to get the thing open, and i feel like i must be missing something here since there wasnt a key taped inside.

am i ********? should i have been sent a key and was not? can any key for fender cases open it? please advise. i dont want to give an 'incomplete' xmas gift.

thanks for your help!! :)

First off, what a great girlfriend you are!

Not to be insulting or anything, but be sure you try to move the latch buttons every way that they could possibly go, including pushing straight in on them. The correct direction should be easy; you should not have to force it. Failing that, the suggestion of taking the case to a music store is a good one.
