Change in tone with 4 vs 5'er

I'm looking in to buying a Fender P, but am having a dilemma with 4 vs. 5. I recently bought a 5'er and enjoy having the low B. However, I heard that there are differences in tone in the 5 string compared to the 4 with the Fender. I was wondering if anyone has any opinion or experience on the matter. If I lose tone with getting a 5 I'd rather have a 4 string, but like I said if I could a 5 would be better.
