Double Bass Charles Mingus Sextet, rehearsing.

Yeah. I love Mingus.
So we have Jaki Byard with a smoke in his left hand playing a Bechstein concert grand omg. Then there’s the rose gold flute by Eric Dolphy, who passed away like two months later. Johnny Coles playing this beautiful sounding trumpet, damn I thought it was Freddie Hubbard by his sound. What a band.
And Mingus playing, what looks to me, a ‘not very top end’ bass. Perhaps a reminder we should play the music and not worry about our gear.
Mingus is the man.
