I don't think very highly of Behringer speakers; I think they badly misrepresent the sound in critical ways. I would recommend their mixers, though (I've bought four so far and use all of them from time to time), if you're on a budget and need a cheap mixer for live use.

But if you purchase one you'll have to live with your conscience if you take "intellectual property rights" issues seriously.

haha, yeah behringer's mixers are certainly a little close to a leading brand in look, thats for sure.

I personally would not use a behringer mixer for any signal that would end up on my track, purely as a headphone/monitor router or something, but there ok i guess.

I use a behringer patchbay and it works fine for what it is.

I would not use the behringer speakers though if you are serious about the quality of your mixdowns!

they will do as your learning but I have also found them to sound pretty innacurated compared to monitors only about £100 dearer.

Yeah, I had one of those small behringer mixers (EURORACK MX602A) for a bit and it was pretty bad. The sound was really, really thin. Even if I ran stereo stuff into it from a CD player or whatever, it just seemed to suck the life out of stuff.

I use these at close range to check "fix mixes" of live Zoom H4 recordings:

THEN listen on Gateway's semi-cheapo's and a very good set of phones. If it sounds good on all 3...it's a go.

Well, I can honestly say that I would LOVE to have a pair of $500+++ monitors, but simply can't justify the cost (in the sense that it's a home studio) as opposed to a "real" studio....

I dunno, the KRKs seem to be working nicely....but again, I understand the idea of "you get what you pay for". Having said that, if I'm going to put $500-$1,000 for a pair of monitors, I'll save that cash and go to a "real" studio...

Just got a pair of the M-Audio AV-40's and for $150 before discount, they really do the job nicely!
