Check this bass tone out

I always think "Carol Kaye" when I'm picking my flatwound-strung P on something funky, cop-show, etc. Man, as as kid I remember all those TV show themes where that sound just jumped outta the little TV speaker (like on the Brady Bunch theme!).

A few years back(well, maybe going on 10 now) I emailed her and she responded with a very long and friendly reply, and even sent me some picks!

:D

in short doses i've found her to be very pleasant and charming and everything i hoped she'd be. in longer doses, especially if you say something she doesn't agree with, she'll rip your heart out and show it to you before you die! however, i totally love her playing and think she's done more to educate folks about playing electric bass than anyone.
