Double Bass Choosing a bridge

My current bridge has very small bridge wings, making it less than optimal for a bridge-wing piezo pickup. I would like to get a bridge with more meaty wings, so I can have good contact with the faces of the pickup.

Fitting the bridge won't be a problem. I fit the existing bridge to my bass when I restored it, and if anything, I anticipate doing a better job this time.

Problem is, the catalogs I have seen don't show pictures of bridges, so I don't know what to choose. Any ideas on a make & model of bridge that is likely to be good for this use?

The bass is a '62 Kay that was a wreck when I got it.

Metropolitan has pictures of their Despiau bridges, and the Despiau site has pix of all the different shapes they make.

I use Met's 'two tree' 150 mm CT6 Despiaus for Kays.

Frances, this is Vince Jesse. Remember me, MJO etc.? I'm taking over the bass repair business from Henry. I use Despiau bridges and I have a nice two star bridge that might work for your instrument.

+3 on the Despiau bridge wing. It's a decent surface area and nice and tight so by removing a little wood an making a "flat" spot on the arch of the leg it is pretty easy to get a good snug fit for a bridge wing piezo.

You can see the slightly flattened arch and the shape of the wing. It works great for the K&K.:

slightly off topic, but what's your avatar supposed to symbolize? may i suggest this common drain amplifier (current amplifier) as a more appropriate symbol of power?
