Choosing between the SB-1 and the LB-100

I just came across this very nice clear pickup demo video which really showed me why I like the sound of the MFD split pickup so much.

The video goes seamlessly through a cycle of G&L -> Fender -> DiMarzio -> Ken Smith × 3 (finger/pick/slap) I must admit, I didn't pay much attention to the middle section, and skipped the last....

To my tastes, the MFD combines the cut of the DiMarzio with the firmness of the Ken Smith ... which leaves no space for traditional Alnico sound which I always think of as a looser, more throaty sound

To me, who always found the Precision sound a little hollow, it's a really complete, rich tone.... but I can see that someone with different tastes, who likes the spaces in the traditional sound, might find it overly persistent, a bit lacking in subtlety or variety.

I do like that 1984 Ibanez Roadstar II as well! Lovely.
