Chorus

It hovers around $220, but the EHX Stereo Polychorus is the most unorthodox analog chorus I have ever tried, and I've tried...some. Search 'Polychorus,' and read a thread I started two years ago. You will learn two things about me: 1. It is very obvious that I have no social life, and 2. I do rather like my Polychorus. You may also learn about what makes the Polychorus unique, but I tend to mask my technical reviews with convoluted prose.

But, for the best chorus sound you can get, you need two pedals and an amp: 1. the aforementioned Polychorus, 2. a Digitech Whammy, set to 'Deep,' and 3. a Roland Jazz Chorus. I like the JC-55, because unlike the 120, you can manually adjust both the rate and depth of the chorus (speed and detune). The 77 would work, too, but I own a 55.

I suppose you COULD augment my triumvirate of choral goodness with a Fulltone CFV-2, a Visual Sound H20, and an Electro-Harmonix Small Clone (or the Neo Clone, or the Analogman copy), but there are some problems with that: 1. the Fulltone pedal isn't available, and won't be for some time, and 2. that many chorus effects would just be too much for most people to handle.

I just did a shoot out with some of the chorus's in my cache...my favorite one for Bass is been the Ibanez BCL or Bi-Mode Chorus...It's a bit older from the 80's, but has two oscillators.

EDIT: Nevermind. I Unichorus for sale wasn't true bypass. :(

This may seem silly, but I'm trying to get a tone like this for a few songs:

He's using an EBS Unichorus and a Boss DD-3. I'm looking for a pedal that can do that subtle chorus. I'd rather not pay the money for the EBS if I don't have to. Any recommendations?

recently got the hardwire cr-7, has 7 different modes and quite a few useable sounds. i like it. only use it to color other effects and not as a stand alone effect. its not analog or boutique but sounds good to my ears. picked it up used for $75 used.
