If you are an outdoorsman like me, you probably don't have a great pair of rugged, waterproof, insulated, grippy gloves. They make ones that aren't so bulky, but they're kinda pricey (to me your $75 is pricey for gloves).

That is one thing I never thought to buy myself. But my in-laws got me a pair and I use them outdoors all the time in the winter. I love them! I use them for hiking, working in the yard, playing in the (rare Eastern NC) snow with my kids.....

Also, a 1000' reel of paracord is small and can be bought for around $50. It is 550 pounds strong, light, and with 1000' feet of it you can cut it and use it without worrying about running out. I use it all the time. Never knew how much I needed it until I had some. It stays under the back seat of my truck 24-7. I'm able to share it and use it to help others tie things down without wondering if I'm going to run out. Good stuff.
