Cirrus and Flats

I just got a Cirrus 4 string and love the construction, truly a well made instrument. I strung it with D'Addario Steels and it is way too zingy. The overtones seem to be off somehow. I am toying with the idea of flats, specifically TI for the tension, but wondered if anyone on TB has had experience with flats on a Cirrus. I am open to suggestions as to other flats or other strings.

I'm using Labella flats in my Cirrus 5. Make the experience, you will not regret it.

If I recall, I had a US Cirrus 4 that I put light Chromes on. It sounded great.

Make sure to get strings long enough for the 35" scale.

Personally, I would not use flats on a Cirrus, as the Cirrus is capable of such stunning piano like sound. I have Elixirs on my Cirrus 5 and the sound is just wonderful.

I tried Elixers during that test they were doing and really didn't like the tone that much. Of course that could be because they were being tested and may have had a slight differences to the retail item.

I think that's what more string manufacturers should do, send TB'ers that sign up a test set of strings, if you like them buy them, if not send them back, or some variation thereof.

I'll +1 that. I think that the midrange heavy Cirrus makes the zing even more exaggerated
