CL - '73 Jazz in Sea Foam?

This pretty little thing popped up on craigslist this morning in my town:

Does that all add up? A '73 in what I'm assuming is sea foam green, maple white blocked neck, upper thumb rest location, four bolt....

Refin or original custom color?

I love Trace Elliot (I own an extremely rare T-Bass T2, which is a Status take on a Tele Precision bass) and, even if SMC is not the best they put out the bass you're gettin' is worth the price so that the amp is a bonus.

$2,400 is WAYYYY too much for a refinished '73 Jazz. That bass is overpriced by $1,000. Frankly, $2,400 is steep for an all-original '73 Jazz. The problems with that bass likely don't stop with the refin, either. I wouldn't touch that with a 10ft pole.

I have a CAR 73 Jazz with maple/white blocks Serial # starts with 42...can you get the serial number from the guy? I've never seen a 73 Jazz in seafoam Green...not saying they didn't do one, but never seen it...

I agree that its way too much for an obvious refin, but I don't agree that it is too much for a decent condition Jazz if it were original with case.

Having sold a 73 Fender Precision in the past year and half for within 100 bucks of that (with plenty of wear tear), I think that its probably a reasonable market value price. In fact, several well known dealers/players told me NOT to take a price anywhere south of 2500. Usually I think Jazz basses are in slightly higher demand and also get a few more bucks for being slightly more of a 'premium' in terms of production and retail cost.

Wow... seriously? You did extremely well.

I have watched countless sellers struggle to sell mint 70s Fenders for $1300, with OHSC and have seen several bought for under a grand. Once you throw in the refinish, which may or may not be well done, I would be hard pressed to pay more than $1200 for it unless I could play it personally and it spoke to me.
