This pickup came with my Squier CV 60’s Mustang that I got as a loaded body, new, plastic still on pickguard and the pickup covers, from an eBay parts reseller. Including Squier documentation & stuff (“inspected by” tags, owners pamphlet, bridge saddle adjustment hex key). So, plenty of the signs of authenticity. Surprised to see questionable pickup that appears either not Alnico entirely or maybe at all, can’t tell what the pole pieces are, but surely the bar magnets underneath are not, and not something I have seen on any other CV “alnico” pickups on other models of bass or guitar. Anyone confirm their CV Mustang had same pickup, or did yours have longer Alnico pole pieces that poke through the bottom side (like the Vintera and I presume actual vintage Fenders)?

I will say, they sound pretty good and don’t seem to suffer the typical ceramic magnet sound which I associate with harsh, constricted top end and a sort of clanging, ugly mid range.
