When I was back east for a while I was interested in this girl from jersey who would go on and on about this ham.
It was like taylor or something ham.
I left before I had any.

Taylor Brand Ham.... I got some in the fridge. It's the main ingredient of a "Pork Roll, Egg & Cheese on a Hardroll" sandwich. Usually ordered with some "saltpepperketchup", the ultimate condiment :bassist:

Do you know that no one in the whole state of oregon can make a steak and cheese or anything remotely close?
seriously pisses me off.

That is a serious problem here in RI. Not only that,
but the local sandwich shop had a Pastrami sandwich
special the other day so I booked one. When I opened it
up back in the office, I found out it was Pastrami on
WHEAT bread. Holy Crap. WHEAT BREAD!

I called those SOB's up and said '*** is this?'

Their response was 'We don't have Rye bread.'

incredible.

I got this steak and cheese the other day from the self proclaimed "best official east coast subs"
I was kinda excited.

This crap had mayo and butter on a hot dog bun, I was pissed.
And not a little mayo, but covered, I think their might have been some cream cheese on it too.

Well I bought the drummer one too, and he was like thanks for the sub dude.

Well I was like to hell with that, I'm gonna throw yours away too.

lmfao

incredible.

I guess in your shoes I would make it myself.
Buy an eye round and have the deli shave it,
pan fry it with onions and mushrooms,
toast the sub, throw the cheese on the meat and melt it
and assemble.

I guess getting a vanilla egg cream would be out of the
question.

Here's how I do cheesesteaks. My boss is from Philly, and he told me I did it real well, except that I used provolone instead of Cheezewiz. Anyway....

Chop up some onions, sweet peppers, and mushrooms.

Get a frying pan, and drop a little oil on it. Fry up the peppers and onions until they soften a little. Throw on some sandwich steaks. There's a brand I get at Costco, but can't remember the name right now. Steakumm will work in a pinch. Fry everything up together, and toss in some worcestire sauce to taste. Toss in the mushrooms, after the meat has cooked a little.

Depending on whether or not you use Cheezewiz, the next steps will differ. If you use Cheezewiz, just dump the contents of the frying pan into a french bread roll, and then squeeze some Wiz onto it. If you're using provolone, you take a slice of provo and put it on top of the mess you just made in the frying pan to melt it a little. Once the cheese starts getting soft, use a spatula to put all that gooey, greasy goodness into your french bread roll.

Get out your Tasty Cakes, and a wooter ice and you're set for a lovely East Coast dinner.

LOL

But man, you guys have got me hungry.

Has anyone else tried Hardee's Philly Steak burger?

If you can get one, try it.

It's a freaking philly cheese steak on a burger.

I mean literally shaved steak with all the trimmings on top of one of their thickburgers. I could feel my arteries tightening with every bite. That's how I knew it was great.
