I was wondering what is the best way to clean the finger board of your bass. I heard it really makes a diffrence. But, I am worried about dripping on the varnish.
I use Old English lemon oil once or twice a year. It's really a preservative/protectant, but cleans well too. It's oily, so, you will have to wipe it off thoroughly.
My bass is a fretless with an ebony fingerboard. The lemon oil has never been a problem for the wood or the finish.
