On the block today is a beautiful bass that I wish I connected with better. It is without a doubt the best playing and most comfortable bass I have owned. My tonal preferences, however, do not align with the pickup positioning of this bass. The bridge-biased pickup has a burpy-but-round character that is surprisingly versatile, but just not to my taste. To each their own. I have kept it for two years because it plays so well, but it is time to move on.

Edit: I had a question regarding the small cracks visible on the top. It is my understanding that these are due to the nature of the redwood and they are purely aesthetic. They are not finish cracks, but hairline cracks in the top itself. I have added some photos of these that highlight them in the most unflattering way possible. They have been stable for the two years I have owned the bass and appear in photos all the way back to Tom Clement’s own website from when it was built.
