I don't get why some people get so wrapped around the axle about this. If you want to use a click track, use one; if you don't want to use one, don't use one. For me, it's all about putting out the best possible product. If using a click track helps, and the band is open to the idea, why not?
I agree - I don't use one other than checking tempo before starting a tune when we are learning one. But for people to suggest that using one means you don't know how to keep time is silly.
