Ok, when I finally decide to read a new thread that has many posts. Why doesn't it take me to the first post?
Thanks.

It has happened that I've read some of it before. If I understand what you're saying, this happens to me all the time: I click on some thread that I don't remember having opened before, and it takes me to some seemingly random post on page 3 or something. When that happens I go back to the beginning of the thread and start reading, at which time I almost always remember that I had in fact read part of the thread at some time in the past. Is is possible that this is what happened to you, or are you talking about a different problem?
Are you absolutely sure that you haven't just forgotten? The reason I ask is that in my experience I often find that, once I've read a bunch of posts, I not only remember having read them, but I remember why I stopped reading, didn't post anything, and chose not to "watch" the thread: because I didn't find it very interesting. On those occasions when the posts really don't seem familiar to me, I feel sure that this is what happened: I don't remember because the thread was not "memorable" in the first place. But most times it's a completely new thread to me.... :/
Yes.Have either of you used the "mark forums read" link? This tells the system that you've "read" every thread...
Oh ok, I get it now, I've read all the threads...sorry to bother you!Have either of you used the "mark forums read" link? This tells the system that you've "read" every thread...

Near the top of the "new posts" page.and how does one do that?
I dunno, it marks all threads as if you read them. And when you click on the recent posts, they will all be just that, "recents posts"Okay. Thanks! does this just reset the post time?
Thanks so much! There is a setting in your preferences at the bottom (Thread Display Mode), that will open new (unread/unopened) threads from either first post or most recent post. Default seems to open starting at first post.
