Cliff Burton Wah Alternative

Morning,

Just checking out the Cliff Burton edition Morley power fuzz wah pedal. Looks like they're either hard to get hold of or very expensive.

What's the closest pedal they do that isn't the Cliff Burton edition? There are quite a few and they're all equally mysterious to me.

For what it's worth, I asked Morley once about this and they say there is no difference between the Cliff Burton wah and the classic Power Fuzz Wah. The 20/20 Power Wah Fuzz (the smaller one) also has the same fuzz circuitry but it has Morley's switchless wah circuit and the buffer from this circuit affects the fuzz sound by reducing some low end from it. I own the 20/20 and have played both and there was noticeably more thump in the full size, but not a deal breaker. Cliff's application of the PWF was to pair it with a big muff and crank it for a screeching wah sound, and it definitely nails that.

Whenever I use mine- the 2020 version, I pair it with a big overdrive stack of orange juice and orange burst
big Chewy niceness and screams like a mofo lol

For me the cost of a Power Fuzz Wah was off putting considering I’d only use it for the intro to FWTBT.

If you’re fine with getting close the Dunlop Bass Wah works well. Put a dirt pedal in front of it and bob’s your uncle. I started off with a Muff as that’s what Cliff used, but I’ve found it doesn’t matter that much as the Wah takes over the sound once I kick it on.
