I'm using a Grace Design Felix or my API-500-Rack für combining mic and (Ehrlund-)pu, which both work really fine. The Felix is a bit more easier to use, the API-solutions offers more possibilities and a more "sophisticated" sound in some way... but I'm quite sure, that the combination of mic and pickup should also work fine with a Headway... the announced studio-version of the new EDB-2 VAP sounds very interesting...I’m using the Headway with powered monitor now, though it only has one eq for both channels, was hoping someone here was using mic/ pickup combo and tell me their set up
I used the Mic to line Hz converter (powered by 2AA) from Zoom. Part name and model is MAA1. It has 48v phantom and a level control. I use a Source Audio EQ2. as my 2 channel preamp With stereo Inputs and apply a different EQ and HPF to each channel (one carries the mic signal and the other is just straight up from my Piezo (FC or Cage) . And then I set it to sum to mono and into a Jay Ganz 400 watt power amp. It fits into a purse or in the pockets of my gig bag. In fact I was able to stick an Acoustic Image Upshot as well in the big back pocket, just to prove a point

It's the only one I know. But I think Zoom will sell it direct. There are other solution but it starts to become bulky. You can get a small phantom power supply. I Or get an electret mic powered by batteries. My setup works well with an audio technica ATM-350@logdrum that looks like a very flexible setup.I think a guitarist I play with has that EQ2 pedal.
Were you able to buy the Zoom MAA1 on its own? I can only see it bundled with the Zoom A1 Four pedal...
Or, you can get a small dynamic mic which needs neither phantom power or batteries. (ie: Sennheiser e604, etc.)You can get a small phantom power supply. I Or get an electret mic powered by batteries.
