Another noob-ish question: I'd like to daisy chain a pair of Yamaha A15 tops. Each is 8ohms. Each has parallel inputs (one speakon, one 1/4"). My amp has banana plugs and I bought a pair of banana to 1/4" speaker cables. So- check me on this - I run the amp to the 1/4" input of one A15 and then connect its other input (the speakon-which will effectively become an output) to the second speaker's input. Is this correct?
The parallel input teminology is confusing as I believe the second input becomes an output when daisy chaining
This is a pain in the arse
*sigh*
So, if this works out, the amp will see a 4ohm load. Each A15 is rated at 4oo watts continuous and each channel of my Crown pushes 800 watts into 4ohms, so this would seem to be ideal.
Assuming that my bass kick drum amp and daisy chaining scheme will work, the bar-band PA will be as follows:
Mains - Yammie A15 tops daisy chained in mono on amp channel 1 for mains; add one channel of Ashly 31 band eq
Monitors - Mackie Thumps; one for the vocalist (aux send 1), and one for the drummer (aux send 2)
Subwoofer - kick drum as needed via amp channel 2 to 31 band eq to Peavey 1820 bass cab (temporary solution)
This leaves no eq for the monitors, however.
