When you use high distortion levels you can be boosting high frequency power content by as much as a 10:1 ratio over normal, so it doesn't take much to blow them. That's why guitar amps don't have tweeters, they wouldn't last through one gig, if they even made it past rehearsal.
since guitar cabs dont have tweeters, is it bad to play guitar through a bass amp? Also, if a guitar amp had a tweeter, couldnt you just turn down the high/tweeter control to not blow it?
