Clover, not enough low end for rock?

Recently I’ve been struggling getting enough low end from my Clover Apeiron H.5 Especially our guitar player was complaining. Previously when I played funk, this wasn’t an issue, as there were no heavy guitars involved. But now as I’m in a muse type rock band I sound somewhere in a mid range in the mix and this is quite noticeable. Usually I have bass at full on the preamp. First I thought maybe it’s due to delano pickups, still not sure if this is the case. Now I started thinking that it could be due to DR Extra life strings. Also maybe JM is not the best combination for a rock sound? I already started looking for a new bass, but before I want to make sure that there’s nothing could be done with this one. Any suggestions?

This is a fine bass, suitable for any style of music.

I would recommend changing the setup of your bass and try out some other strings.

Also check your cabinet and amp: Are they well placed in the rehearsing room? Maybe your amp or cabinet cant supply enough power to cut through.

One of the problems I had during the last studio session, I was recording through Eden head and as a result we had to add a lot of low end in order to normalize the sound. So far I was blaming Eden head, but it seems to me that this bass never has enough of the low end wherever I play.
