DKB, maybe it will end up looking like this:

It would look cool with a pickup cover too.

WOW!
dunno how you do that, but i almost thought you had this straight from the "Available F-basses list" on the F-bass site!

... I wasn't realy "in to" the VF5-ers, but after a while on the forum, i'm getting more and more into it! And this a good contribution, even though i would probably never buy a bass with a topping [EDIT:] well perhaps a burl [/EDIT], ... it still looks gorgious!!!!:hyper:

Cheers!

It will probably not be the first time on this club/forum, but i'm rather new to the F-bass club .. so here's my Q.

What is your favorite F-bass config???

Mine would be:
* BN6 (std)
* 28 fret (that's an Option so extra $$$)
* Maple fretboard (std)
* 17 mm stringspacing (.. extra $$$)
* Piezo bridge (.. extra $$$)
* Midi 13-pin (.. extra $$$)
* Vol/Blend (.. just a few extra $$$)
* color not sure about that ... it's all so beautyful!!! but perhaps that will be a standard one, or maybe a burst.

As you can tell .. i don't have the $$ lying here waiting to be spended on a bass like that, so here is father time one of my companions (i hope).

Cheers!
Harry.

Mine would be:
* BN6
* Ash body (nice figure)
* Maple neck
* Maple fretboard
* A style bridge
* Blk hardware
* Matching ramp between the pickups
* Recessed straplocks
* Hand rubbed oil finish

Oh wait... I already have it:

If I had all the money in the world I would just buy another one of
these. I MIGHT get a burled maple top but that's about it.

Hairman, is this about right?

Holy Guacamoly!!!

how do you do that?! Are you a secret designer for F-bass?
They look great thndrstk6!!
I would have the ebony bridge replaced by a metal one (yeah, probably a black!) and the standard electronics knobs for a bass of my specs (6 for the pre, and the required number of knobs for midi).
But man, those body's do make my heart beat faster!!!

What's a guy need to do to get into your will I wonder.

I really love the look of this bass. If I had all the money in the world, I'd probably have about 6 6-string basses, and this configuration would be one of them for sure.

Allright, Nice config!!
flamed maple board is awesome
Uhm .. what are recessed straplocks? perhaps due to insufficient knowledge of english language, it's something i don't regognise directly.

Recessed straplocks are set into the body of the bass so they don't stick
out. It puts your strap right up against the bass instead of at the end of
the metal piece of the straplock.

steve f, here's your Koa BN5. Let me know if it's right. I did it in an oil finish, high gloss finish, and one without matching pup covers.

That is just incredible!
Thanks so much for doing these mockups!

I've been talking to Donovan about an FBass and asked him about a Koa top. When he told me the upcharge I balked...
Now I'm scratching my head (and checking my bank book)..
The one with maple pickup covers is a great idea but I think I'd have to go with the oil rubbed finish.
Beautiful basses!
